Let's all make Arena cool again

Especially with activity picking up and new members coming in, Arena has the potential to be the shizzle once more.
Any ideas?

I've got a guy that might join this place. He has the ability to be a mature, slightly productive member, but he generally ignores that and spams about candy and the sort.

I have a few ideas:
I think our main goul should be to get more members.
First, we need to expand to more subjects. Examples of which are Art and Literature. There are quite a few people out there who are interested in things not included here. If we include some of those things, we may be able to attract more members.
Second, I think we should also hold tournaments of various kinds. Battling, breeding, spriting, and even writing. This could also help to bring in more members.
Last, I think we should advertise more. Not excessively, but enough to catch people's attention. If arrangements can't be made for those annoying little flashy things that pop up on other sites, we should advertise it in our signatures on other sites.
I have plenty of other ideas, but these are the easiest to explain.

It was a tight (as in close, not the slang term) community about the same size as Highway, although both had moments where the other was more active (2008 Summer - 2009 Spring was really bad for Arena with almost no activity) although Highway was usually bigger.
It's really hard to describe what Arena was.
Back in 2007-2008, it was a place to come after school and just settle down and talk about whatever. Whether it was anime, voice acting, video games, Pokémon, life issues, or spazzy guys/girls that we liked for reasons unknown, we could talk about it and joke about it and help each other out. A lot of us really changed as people back then.

That is the only real example of what I'm talking about that was actually archived on the forums, though. Everything happened in the chat.
On the subject of our chat quotes being lame - our chat quotes were meant to be lame from the very beginning. Lameness is funny to me, Kaylin, Rachel, etc.
To be honest I do like sexual humour sometimes and I can be laid back. Just look at the latest chat quote - while everyone argued over Soup's fate on Arena, all I could say was RIDE THE SHANE PLANE <3.
The old Arena is like a cancelled TV show that you don't remember any specific reason for liking it, but at the same time you love it dearly and fondly. It was truly a great experience that I want to bring back.
It's really hard to describe what Arena was.
